When it comes to making the most of our lives, we tend to get consumed with external obstacles…
Like…
Not having enough time or money.
Or having too much to do… or thinking we’re too old (or young).
We assume if we didn’t have these constraints we’d be in a much better place.
But what if our biggest barriers aren’t outside of us?
What if they’re on the inside?
It’s worth asking God about.
To see if there’s…
…A sin to confess.
…A truth to believe.
…Or an action to take.
He might just show you how you’re getting in your own way.
Thanks to the indwelling Spirit, we have a built-in search feature…
Whereby God searches our hearts… reveals truth to our inward man… and leads us in a better way.
Taking time to pause and use this feature goes a long way in becoming who God wants you to be in His kingdom.
So it does us well to make this a regular practice.
Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Try me and know my anxious thoughts;
And see if there be any hurtful way in me,
And lead me in the everlasting way.
Ps. 139:23-24
