Entering the unknown with faith and courage

by | Dec 6, 2023

Much of life involves facing unknowns.

This can cause any of us to live in a state of anxiety and fear.

And keep us from entering what God is calling us to do.

But we can overcome our fears when we remember God is with us.

Which has been His design from the start of creation…

That is, to do life with Him.

In the beginning God began to give shape to a world that was formless and void.

After the Lord created Adam, He commissioned him to carry on the process…

… by being fruitful and multiplying, ruling and subduing.

All of this was unknown territory for Adam.

It forced him to face new things.

Yet he could do so because God was with him.

After the fall, the connection with God was broken.

Shame and fear entered the picture, making everything more difficult.

Which is something we all experience…

… and we know some of life’s unknowns can terrorize us and paralyze our efforts.

Yet with through Jesus, the basis for fear is removed.

We are never alone.

We have Immanuel — who is “God with Us.”

And this puts us in a place to face any unknown with faith and courage.

I don’t know what unknowns you are facing now.

It may involve a health issue.

An upcoming hard conversation.

Or something changing with your work.

Or maybe God is calling you to do something the world would say is risky.

Whatever it is, know you can step up and face it because you are not alone — God is with you.

‘Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand’ (Is. 41:10).
