New identity, new life

by | Jan 22, 2024

Ruling one’s world well starts with faithfully ruling oneself.

And faithfully ruling oneself involves embracing one’s God-given identity.

Increasing resolve and trying harder will never bring the kind of habit change and transformation we need.

Our connection to the old man, Adam, is too great. We are dead in him.

But in Christ we have a new identity, that replaces and overcomes the one we have in Adam.

And with it we have new life.

The old self has been crucified with Christ so we should no longer be enslaved to anything (Rom. 6:6).

We now belong to God, having been bought with a price (1 Cor. 6:20).

And we’re able to put on a new self, created after His likeness (Eph. 4:24).

So if you are eager to make different choices, improve your habits, and establish fresh practices…

To put yourself in a better place to be fruitful, multiply, rule, cultivate and protect what God has committed to your charge…

Embrace the identity God has given you in Christ.

Believe what he says about you…

“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation…” (2 Cor. 5:17).
