Most men I know are intrigued by weapons.
And they enjoy any opportunity to handle and use them.
I see this as a healthy part of a man fulfilling his role as protector and contender for what is true, right and beautiful in God’s world.
Especially in a fallen world.
But a man’s interest in weapons should not be limited to guns and knives.
Even more, it should involve the spiritual weaponry described in the Bible.
Which includes truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, the sword of the Spirit, and prayer.
It is these that equip a man to evade deception, stay strong, and advance the rule of God’s kingdom day by day.
And every man ought to be adept at deploying them in his daily life.
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Eph. 6:10-12).
