Friends help you flourish

by | Jun 5, 2024

You need friends.

Here is some proof.

The Lord’s Prayer begins with the pronoun ‘our.’

Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name’ (Mt. 6:9).

We tend to overlook that first word ‘our,’ but we shouldn’t.

It’s important.

It’s one of many ways the Bible reveals that God designed us to live out our faith with others–not alone.

This is a big deal, especially today.

So many people see themselves as going it alone…

Figuring life out and contending with the world on their own.

But God didn’t intend us to do life this way!

And for good reason.

Not only do we flourish most when we have others involved in our lives…

We also make our greatest contribution to the world.

Friends sharpen and encourage.

So be on guard against doing life alone.

Stay close to your friends.

And make some more.

It will do much to advance the mission God has for you!

Probably more than you realize.
