It’s common to assume the spiritual is more important than the physical.
This assumption can lead us to overlook the significance of the physical world, including our bodies.
But God created both — the material and the immaterial.
And He designed us to serve Him with both body and spirit, working in harmony.
In fact, how we use our bodies is a necessary part of serving him faithfully.
The Apostle Paul addresses this when He says we’re to use the members of our bodies as instruments of righteousness, not of sin (Rom. 6:12-14).
So take stock of how you are using your body in service of the King.
This is a far-reaching topic, which includes:
– Discipline and self-control
– Acts of service
– Personal purity
– Sleep and rest
– Food and drink
– Physical activity and exercise
– Suffering and endurance
How we handle our bodies in these areas affects our spiritual development.
It also affects the impact of our lives in God’s kingdom.
For maximum dominion… seek His help in managing your body well.
As Paul reminds us…
“I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified” (1 Cor. 9:27).
