How preparation today can bring deliverance tomorrow…
The recent California wildfires have produced some heroic stories.
One of them is about a brain surgeon who saved the homes of his neighbors.
Chester Griffiths had concerns that one day his home would be threatened by fire.
So he purchased some basic fire protection equipment to have on hand, just in case.
Well last week it got put to use, when Griffiths, his son, and a neighbor fended their homes and the houses around them from football-sized embers–for days.
In the end, they successfully protected six homes from the terrible inferno.
Pulling this off took courage and perseverance.
It also took foresight.
Foresight is a mark of wisdom.
It’s the ability to anticipate future challenges and prepare for them, even when the threat isn’t immediately visible.
The Bible offers us powerful examples of this principle in action.
Joseph stored up grain during seven years of abundance to prepare for seven years of famine.
Noah built an ark before a single raindrop fell.
Both men trusted God’s guidance and acted with foresight, saving lives in the process.
Foresight remains an important trait… whether it’s preparing for literal fires or the challenges we face in our spiritual, personal, or professional lives.
Here’s the takeaway: wise men see what’s coming and act before it arrives.
So ask yourself:
-What potential challenges might be ahead?
-What steps can you take now to be ready?
-How can you trust God to guide your preparations?
Foresight isn’t just about looking ahead—it’s about acting today with tomorrow in mind.
Will you be ready when the moment comes?
“The prudent see danger and take refuge…” (Pr. 22:3).
