Handling boredom, anxiety and success God’s way…
Here’s something to ponder—and address.
Your future depends largely on how you handle three things:
1) Boredom
2) Anxiety & Fear
3) Success
Boredom
With boredom, we lose sight of our purpose.
This can easily lead us astray… causing us to waste time or numb ourselves with entertainment, sensual pleasures, laziness, or meaningless activity.
Eliminate boredom by redeeming idle time and cultivating the different domains of your life.
Anxiety & Fear
With anxiety and fear, we tend to want to increase control.
But this only adds to our worries (since only God has full control), and the stress of it can push us into sinful escapes.
The remedy is to seek God’s kingdom and His righteousness above all things… and trust Him with the issues that weigh you down.
Success
With success, we’re tempted by pride, self-reliance, and complacency.
This can lead to a cold, unbelieving heart—and ultimately, forgetting God.
Protect yourself against this danger by staying humble, using your success for the good of others, and pushing yourself to enter new areas of service.
Develop a Plan
How you handle these three common experiences–boredom, anxiety, and success–will shape your future.
So identify where you are most vulnerable and come up with a plan to counter it.
“The prudent see danger and prepare for it, but the simple keep going and suffer the consequences” (Pr. 22:3).
