Training for dominion starts early…
Lately, more of my friends seem to be getting dogs.
Most of them have young families.
I think it’s a great idea.
Pets are good for kids.
Adam’s first recorded task in the Bible was naming the animals (Gen. 2:19-20).
Classifying them was part of his dominion mandate…
And it fit within his broader calling to tend the garden.
Like Adam, we’re all called to understand, organize, and lead–whether in our work, family, or personal life.
Having a pet as a child is an ideal way to start learning this.
It trains kids to bring order with care and responsibility.
So if you have kids around and they’ve been asking for a dog, consider how it might be good for them.
Helping a child learn to care for a pet is a small but meaningful step in raising a future leader.
