Are you testing or trusting?

Consistent obedience outpaces endless analysis

In an age of endless data and decision fatigue, what if the wisest move is simple obedience?

God hasn’t called us to figure everything out—but to walk by faith in what He’s already revealed.

We often find ourselves here…

A decision looms, and we want clarity. So what do we do?

We test. We gather data, weigh options, and try to predict the outcome.

Good tools—if they’re submitted to something greater.

The problem? We often make testing our first move and trusting God our last resort.

Adam was the first to do this…

God’s word was clear—but he tested it. He evaluated it.
He stood over it instead of under it.

In the wilderness, Israel tested God rather than trust in His provision.

The Pharisees did the same with Jesus—always probing, always skeptical, never surrendering.

And we follow in their footsteps when we default to our own autonomy:

“Let me figure this out first and make sure it works–then I’ll obey.”

But the simplicity of God’s design calls us back to something better.

We weren’t made to test first and trust later.
We were made to trust God’s word—and obey it in faith.

This doesn’t mean we throw out wisdom, planning, or even analysis.

It means:

-We start with the fear of the Lord.
-We believe His Word is true before we’ve run the tests.
-We follow the Spirit’s lead wherever He directs us.

Consider this:

How much of your decision-making is built on testing, and how much on trust?

Exhaustive testing may seem wise, but trusting is the gateway to wisdom.
