A lost virtue to recover

Reclaiming the power of sacrifice…

We live in a world that chases comfort and avoids hardship.

But following Christ means embracing something far greater—a life of purpose that requires sacrifice.

Jesus didn’t call us to ease but to love—and love requires sacrifice.

He laid down His life for us, and He calls us to do the same for others (John 15:13).

Yet how often do we hesitate when a calling means giving something up?

How many opportunities to build up others and advance God’s kingdom go unanswered because there’s a personal cost?

God has called us to dominion—to build and cultivate with Him using the gifts and opportunities He gives us.

But real building always comes at a price.

It requires effort, endurance, and the willingness to sacrifice for something greater than ourselves.

Yet there’s a paradox: in laying down our lives, we truly find them (Matthew 16:25).

Sacrifice is not about loss—it’s about offering ourselves for something greater.

It’s the path to impact and legacy, as we become those who God made us to be.

So don’t hesitate to embrace the sacrifice faithfulness requires—with joy.

Make it a habit to step into the hard things God calls you to, knowing that sacrificial love bears fruit.

This price isn’t easy to pay…

But it’s part of the life-giving work God does through us.
