Guarding the source of your life…
When God put Adam in the Garden of Eden, He commanded him to ‘cultivate and keep it.’
This was a commission to both develop and protect.
It’s important to see this instruction involves far more than an ancient patch of land in the Middle East.
It includes everything God entrusts to your hands today.
And, it also applies to the fertile ground of our hearts… which brings forth the fruit of our lives.
The Bible exhorts us to carefully tend this vital area when it says…
“Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flows the springs of life” (Pr. 4:23).
To put this into practice we must both feed our hearts and post guards around them.
We feed them through God’s Word, prayer, worship, fellowship, etc.
And we guard them by refusing lies, resentments, and lusts to take root.
At the core of all this is a life of faith.
Take care of your heart.
Your hope, vision, actions, impact, and legacy all flow from it.
