Heroes of the Bible are known for their courage.
Noah, Caleb, Nehemiah, Esther, John the Baptist and Paul are memorable examples.
But courage isn’t just for extraordinary Bible characters.
It’s for all the ordinary people who hope in God too.
When the Israelites were about to embark for the Promised Land, Moses exhorted everyone of them saying:
“Be strong and courageous… for the LORD your God is the One who is going with you. He will not desert you or abandon you” (Dt. 31:6).
The same exhortation applies to us, in whatever He calls us to enter into.
I do not know what God has for you today…
It might be something big, or just routine.
But I am sure…
If you are seeking to live out the values of His kingdom, it’s going to take some courage.
And rest assured…
He will give you the courage you need as you trust in Him.
Even if you see yourself as just an ordinary believer.
“… for God has given us a spirit not of fear, but of power and love and self-control” (2 Tim. 1:7).
