Do you self-censor out of fear?

by | Feb 13, 2024

We all can be reluctant to speak freely because we fear the response of others.

As it says here:

“The particular men we fear or people we seek to please may vary, but the temptation to do so is universal.”

How true. Especially in our cancel culture.

We tend to hedge what we have to say instead of being straight up.

Because we don’t want to become outcasts.

As a result, we are less than what we could be.

And our light is dimmed.

So the fear of man becomes a snare to us (Pr. 29:5).

The only remedy is to increase in the fear of God.

As illustrated by the Apostles.

Who would not cease to speak of what they knew to be true.

Because they were inclined to fear and obey God more than men (Acts 5:29).

So be careful of censoring yourself out of fear.

Don’t be afraid to speak up.

God may want to use your words to turn the hearts of others… so that they may see in a new way.
