Put gaining godly insight over mere fact-gathering…
We live in an age of endless information.
News, podcasts, books, social media—it’s all so accessible.
Information gathering can become an obsession!
But how much do we understand?
Proverbs 4:7 urges us:
“Get wisdom, and whatever you get, get understanding.”
Knowledge alone isn’t enough.
We need understanding—the ability to discern truth, apply it rightly, and walk in wisdom.
Without it, we’re just collecting facts, reacting to headlines, and drowning in opinions.
So how do we pursue understanding God’s way?
1. Fear the Lord – Reverence for God is the foundation of wisdom (Prov. 9:10).
2. Seek truth like treasure – Don’t settle for surface-level takes. Dig deep (Prov. 2:4-5).
3. Listen to the wise – Surround yourself with those who fear God and live with wisdom (Prov. 13:20).
4. Walk in obedience – Understanding grows as we live out what we know (John 7:17).
In a world of noise, be a man of understanding—
One who discerns truth, applies wisdom, and becomes an instrument for good.
Where do you need more understanding right now?
Seek it. Pursue it. Ask God for it—He gives generously (James 1:5).
Let’s not just be men who know more…
But men who understand better, live wisely, and bless others through our lives.
