Do you know what your first principles are?
You’ve got to have them.
Consider them your foundation stones… starting points… non-negotiables.
For planning.
And deciding…
How you will use your time, abilities, energy and money.
To give you an idea what I’m talking about, here are my first principles:
1. God
There is a sovereign God who created and rules all things.
2. Mission
This God has given mankind a mission to rule and cultivate the earth with Him.
3. Word
God has given us His Word to know how to accomplish our mission.
4. Consequences
There are consequences to every decision and action.
5. Legacy
Time is short, but we can have an impact on generations through what we do with our lives.
These five principles inform everything I do.
You can use them if you want.
In any case, know your first principles.
They’re essential.
Without them, you will always be reacting to the pressure of the moment.
But with them you’ll gain vision, hope and direction.
Order my steps in your word; and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.
