Is your narrative rooted in truth?

Narratives are powerful.

They tell a story. They represent. And they shape perspectives.

Narratives are everywhere.

Corporations have them, families have them, and so do individuals.

Narratives have consequences too.

Because they affect how we view ourselves, others and situations…

Which shapes how we approach life before us.

We all swim in an ocean of narratives, and can be tossed to and fro by them.

And this makes it essential to anchor yourself in a narrative of truth.

Too often our own narratives are shaped by lies.

At the heart of these lies is the falsehood that we aren’t useful in God’s world because…

We have made too many mistakes or are too flawed.

But this is not true.

The overall message of the Bible is…

God uses broken people to advance the unfolding story of His kingdom.

And it’s within this redemptive narrative we must see ourselves.

So be careful of the story you tell yourself and live by.

And watch out for untruths that are keeping you stuck.

Yes, there failures and regrets.

Those are part of everyone’s story.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Rom. 3:23).

But the free gift of God’s grace puts us right with Him through Jesus Christ (v.24).

So in Him we can look forward to new chapters He is writing…

Within His grand narrative of redemption.

As we live restored lives…

Using our gifts for Him.
