What is Jesus’s favorite subject?
Many assume it’s money.
But if you take the answer to be what He talked about most…
Jesus’s favorite topic is…
His kingdom–which is mentioned 126 times in the gospels.
The kingdom of God (or heaven) can seem like an abstract topic to us.
But it helps to realize a kingdom implies a king, who is reigning.
And Jesus is the king who reigns over all.
Not just over the church, but everything… in every sphere of existence.
In Him all things hold together (Col.1:17).
He the King of Kings and Lord of lords (1 Tim.6:15)…
Who is above all rule and authority and power and dominion (Eph.1:21)…
And having offered one sacrifice for sins, He now sits at the right hand of God waiting until all His enemies be made a footstool for His feet (Heb.12-13).
At present…
Jesus, through the Spirit, is delivering souls from the domain of darkness and transferring them to His blessed kingdom (Col.1:13).
And all who have experienced such a transfer now reign with Christ today (Eph.2:7).
Because the kingdom is so central to Jesus’s ministry, it should constantly be on our hearts…
With a strong desire to see His kingdom advance.
And the most practical way to express this is to faithfully apply the values of His kingdom to everything we do…
As we pray…
“Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Mt.6:10).
