Many Christians use “Kingdom of God” and “Church” as if they are the same thing.
But they’re not.
Yes, they overlap.
Yes, they’re both central to God’s plan.
But the Kingdom is bigger than the Church.
The Kingdom is the reign of Christ over everything.
Every domain of life is under His authority—family, work, politics, education, culture.
The Church is the covenant community.
It’s the gathering of the redeemed.
It’s where we are formed through Word and sacrament, renewed in worship, and sent out on mission.
Here’s the key:
You’re not just called to attend church.
You’re called to experience renewal in the church…
So you can represent the Kingdom wherever God has you.
Don’t limit your faith to Sunday mornings.
And don’t treat the church just as a fueling station to fill you up when you’re running on fumes.
God is restoring all things in Christ.
That includes your household, your workplace, your city.
And you’ve been called to serve His Kingdom right there.
So participate in the church—as a base of worship, renewal, and equipping.
And live daily for the Kingdom—as an agent of the King in the world.
“The kingdom of God is at hand…” (Mk. 1:15).
