You do not need to have a position of authority to leave a mark on the world.
Authority in this world may help, but your example is more important.
As the late Gary North puts it:
Authority need not involve the exercise of power. It need not involve giving orders. It can mean rule by example. Rule by example survives the grave. This is why it offers greater potential for social transformation. How much institutional power did Jesus have?
This quote has got me thinking about my own example.
I hope it gets you thinking about yours too.
You don’t need worldly authority for your life to count and leave a legacy.
Your example can do it.
And we develop our example best as we serve by daily picking up our cross and following Christ.
