Stay vigilant

by | Jan 4, 2024

No man can be what God intends for him without vigilance over his own life.

This is why the psalmist prays:

Establish my footsteps in Your word, and do not let any iniquity have over dominion over me (Ps. 119:133).

It’s also why the Apostle Paul exhorts us:

Do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts (Rom. 6:14).

The good news of the gospel is that the power of sin has been broken for all who are united to Christ by faith.

In Him…

We are no longer under sin’s tyranny.

Condemnation.

Or shame.

We’ve been liberated from the power of sin and guilt so we would walk in the newness of life… and no longer as slaves.

But walking in this freedom doesn’t happen without care.

It takes establishing one’s steps in God’s Word.

Moment by moment.

And this takes vigilance.

God gave His Son so you would experience the fulness of life He intends for you in Him…

And to use your days and gifts to advance His kingdom…

As you live out the purpose He has for you… while partaking of His glory.

So stay vigilant.

Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing (Jn. 15:5)
