Loving your neighbor in your everyday surroundings…
The second greatest commandment tells us:
“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” — Matthew 22:39
This isn’t just a vague sentiment.
It’s a call to pay attention—to the people right in front of you.
We tend to live isolated, pre-occupied lives.
Worse, we can become tribal—only engaging those who look like us, think like us, or agree with us.
But biblical neighbor-love crosses all of that.
It’s not just about liking people.
It’s about faithfully engaging the world God has placed you in.
God doesn’t call you to live your faith in your head.
He calls you to live it out—on your block, in your building, on your street, in your city.
Your faith isn’t just personal—it’s practical.
And your neighbors aren’t just the ones next door.
They’re anyone God puts in your path with a need (see Luke 10:25–37).
So let me encourage you:
– Pray for your neighbors.
– Help when needs arise.
– Build relationships that last.
– Speak truth with love.
– Be a faithful presence over time.
You don’t need a massive platform to make a difference.
You just need to be present, prayerful, and available—wherever God has placed you.
That’s how His kingdom moves forward.
And it starts with the neighbors He’s put in your midst.
Bring His kingdom to bear where you are.
