Obey your way to change…
People are hungry for transformation.
They want to see change in their lives—and in the world.
You’re probably among them.
If so, take heart!
God has graciously given us the good news of the gospel to bring the change we long for.
But here’s the key:
For that change to happen, we must obey what God shows us.
Unfortunately, much of today’s discipleship is knowledge-based rather than obedience-based.
We listen to messages, read books, and contemplate ideas—assuming we’re growing.
Of course, knowledge is essential to obeying God.
But without obedience, knowledge is fruitless.
No change occurs.
No growth happens.
As James put it: “Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves” (James 1:22).
This theme runs throughout the Bible.
Consider…
… Abraham wouldn’t have become a blessing to the nations if he hadn’t obeyed God and left his country.
… Joshua wouldn’t have led Israel into the Promised Land if he hadn’t moved forward despite his fears.
… The disciples wouldn’t have hauled in a miraculous catch of fish if they hadn’t cast their nets again at Jesus’ command.
… Even Jesus secured the world’s redemption by saying, “Thy will be done”—and going to the cross.
Change follows obedience.
If you want to see transformation in your life, obey what God is showing you.
And trust Him to do His transforming work.
As the old hymn says…
“Trust and obey, for there’s no other way…”
