His kingdom is bigger than you think…
Many Christians assume that because our eternal home is in heaven, God isn’t that concerned about the world—and that what we do here doesn’t really matter.
They point to Jesus’ words before Pilate:
“My kingdom is not of this world” (John 18:36).
But here’s the problem: that’s not what Jesus meant.
He wasn’t saying His kingdom had nothing to do with the world.
He was saying His authority didn’t come from Rome, the Sanhedrin, or any earthly source.
It came from the Father.
And yet, that very authority has broken into this world.
As Psalm 24:1 declares, “The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof.”
Every square inch—family, government, business, science, art—belongs to Him.
That means your labor here matters.
Your work, your decisions, your investments in people and places—they are not throwaway tasks in a temporary waiting room.
They are kingdom work.
We’re not just passing through.
We’re ambassadors of a King whose reign is comprehensive in scope and absolute in authority.
Our calling is to reflect His rule here and now, in the everyday spheres He’s entrusted to us.
So instead of retreating from the world, lean in.
Build with faith.
Work with hope.
Govern your life, your home, your craft under the lordship of Christ.
Because the King is concerned about the world—after all, it’s His.
