The missing ingredient isn’t effort, but vision…
Want to know a great—and often overlooked—need for men today?
They need a compelling vision.
Without one, men get swept along by trends.
They settle for maintenance.
And without realizing it, God’s purpose for them goes unfulfilled.
So how does a man recover—or gain—a vision for his life?
You have to look in three directions.
First: the beginning.
From the start, men were made to move toward something entrusted to them by God.
Adam was given a garden to cultivate and keep.
You, too, have domains—areas of responsibility God expects you to develop and make fruitful.
The Genesis call to rule, multiply, work, and protect is the starting point for any man seeking vision.
Second: the end.
History is going somewhere.
Each man will stand before the Lord and give an account—not for how busy he was, but for how faithful.
“Well done, good and faithful servant” will not be heard by passive men.
It belongs to those who embraced responsibility and acted in faith.
Keeping the end in view sharpens what deserves your energy now.
Third: right now.
This is where many men stall.
They believe God has a purpose, but struggle to act in the present.
To form a compelling vision, consider:
-Your gifts
-Your skills
-Your interests
-Your experience
-Your desires
-Your opportunities
Then ask: How can I use these to build others and advance God’s kingdom for the rest of my life?
Keep your answer connected to the real world you live in.
Vision always lives in the present tense.
God’s call isn’t abstract—it’s concrete, actionable, and within reach.
And He didn’t create you merely to endure.
He calls you to see, to trust Him, and to carry out the mission He has for you.
