The Bible makes it clear we must do more than see with our eyes.
We must see with our hearts.
Jesus gets at this when He speaks of those who “though seeing do not see” (Mt. 13:13).
And the Apostle John warns about living by visual appeal alone when he mentions “the lust of the eyes” (1 Jn. 2:16).
Due to this need to see beyond the physical….
The Apostle Paul prays that the eyes of believers’ hearts would be enlightened…
Allowing them to perceive the hope of God’s calling… the glory of His inheritance… and the surpassing greatness of His power (Eph. 1:18-19).
The ability to see beyond what your eyes take in is a major factor in the kind of life you live.
It influences the things you choose to pursue.
And it equips you with a vision of your calling to guide you for the rest of your life.
So along with the Paul…
Ask God to give you a heart that sees.
And the grace to flesh out what He shows you.
