There is a verse in the book of Joshua that addresses the subject of success.
It reads:
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will achieve success (Joshua 1:8).
This verse gives us insight on what successful men do — from God’s perspective.
In sum, it tells us successful men have God’s Word engraven on their inner being to such a point that they see reality as God does… and this leads them to obey Him, even in circumstances requiring great courage.
For Joshua, this meant securing the land that God was providing.
For you and me, it can mean courageously going after the calling He sets before us on any given day.
Note:
When this verse says “then you will make your way prosperous” it is not promising piles of money if you meditate on God’s Word and obey it.
But it does assure you will advance and make progress in the way God has for you in this world.
Which ought to be the objective of any man who wants to be successful in His eyes.
