Many Christians avoid civic matters because they don’t like the idea of getting involved in politics.
But most political issues are also biblical concerns.
Which means they should matter to us.
Take a few key issues today: economics, abortion, and immigration.
The Bible offers principles that speak to each of these areas.
And faithfully developing our world requires growing in our understanding of these principles.
As one theologian wisely noted:
“The Bible is authoritative on everything of which it speaks. Moreover, it speaks of everything.”
He clarified further…
“We do not mean that it speaks of football games, of atoms, etc., directly, but that it speaks of everything either directly or by implication.”
Perhaps you haven’t learned much about biblical principles applying to the civil realm—and that’s understandable.
These teachings are rarely emphasized.
But that doesn’t mean we can afford to stay disengaged.
It simply means we have more to learn.
Building the City of God requires us to know how to apply His principles in the midst of the City of Man.
